Welcome to the Psychosocial Oncology (PSO) Virtual Academy!
We are so pleased you have chosen to enhance your knowledge and skills for working with people with cancer and their families. This certificate course includes 15 modules, each including a 1-to-1.5-hour video and a 5-20 item quiz to verify your learning. You must achieve at least 75% on each quiz to move on to the next section. At the end of the 15 modules, you will be asked to complete a final feedback form before receiving your certificate. You will have one year from registration for the PSO Virtual Academy to complete the video content and quizzes.
This course is designed to provide practical and useful information on the subject matter covered for educational purposes and professional development. It is not intended to replace professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Completion of this course may qualify participants to earn continuing education credits, however, participation in this course does not itself provide any professional designation or license. Participants are encouraged to consult their professional accrediting bodies or associations for guidance on continuing education requirements and licensing. Recognize phases of cancer survivorship and potential for increased distress at each phase.

Describe basic cancer treatment strategies and ability to identify the potential psychiatric and psychosocial effects of each.

Assess patient/family social and practical problems and social determinants of health.

Discuss evidence-based treatment approaches for most common cancer-related psychological problems.
TPN.health, #1766, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit.
