Trauma-Informed Primary Care: Fostering Resilience and Recovery, a Kaiser Permanente funded initiative led by the National Council, brought together national experts and thought leaders to develop a nationally applicable, evidence-based “change package” for advancing trauma-informed approaches in primary care. This webinar will discuss the concrete components of the Change Package and its promise for creating resilient environments in which we can deliver high quality services and address healthcare’s quadruple aim.

Karen Johnson is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in individual and organizational resilience, brain science, toxic stress, trauma, trauma-informed approaches, complex system change, leadership, and staff development. Karen has expertise in leading national, state, and regional learning communities and providing training, consultation and technical assistance to states, municipalities, federal agencies, and provider organizations across a variety of systems of care. She is certified in Dr. Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead leadership training program, trained in Dr. Bruce Perry’s Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics and possesses expertise in out-of-home care, child welfare, transition age youth, wraparound services, community- and school-based mental health.

Dr. Leone is an Integrated Health Consultant for the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. Her expertise is in integration of behavioral health care, child and adolescent mental health and welfare, health care collaboration, training and technical assistance, and clinical supervision. She has over 20 years’ experience in clinical mental health and substance use provision with children, adolescents, and adults. Experience serving as a subject matter expert on a variety of training and technical assistance portfolios
