Trauma reactions reverberate long after the inciting event, creating long-lasting changes in the brain and body. These shifts affect self-perception, relationships, and daily functioning. In this workshop, you’ll learn about the effect trauma has on the brain and body and tools to promote nervous system regulation for healing.

Participants will gain competency in the effects and treatment of trauma.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the 3 parts of the brain most impacted by trauma.
- Describe how trauma shows up in the body.
- Demonstrate emotion regulation skills that help with nervous system regulation.
Course meets the qualifications for hours of continuing education credit for LPCCs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
