This presentation provides an introduction to the continuum of care with adolescents struggling with mental health and substance abuse. We will explore levels of care from inpatient psychiatric facilities to outpatient services. I will provide verbiage to share with parents and family members to communicate to them the process and their rights to treatment.

This program has been approved for 1.5 CE clock hours in Diagnosis by the Louisiana Counseling Association as authorized by the Louisiana Professional Counselor Licensing Board of Examiners.

Social Workers

Tanya Stuart is a mental health and substance abuse professional with over 20 years of experience with children, adolescents, and adults. Tanya utilizes various modalities in treatment including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Supportive Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and “Accountability Therapy” to assist and guide clients in reaching their full potential. Her philosophy can be summed up as, “for individuals to reach happiness and contentment in life, everyone must find a balance in mind, body, and spirit.”
