Description

There are 80 percent more suicides than homicides in our country. The 32,000 self-inflicted deaths leave many survivors; those closest to the person who died by suicide are vulnerable to substance abuse and self-injury (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2009). Suicide is a major public health concern, like heart disease and cancer.

This session will focus on the definition of Suicide, Statistics, Reasons People Die from Suicide, and How to support suicide survivors.
