Description

Many clinicians are afraid of working with suicidal clients, but chances are high that a client experiencing suicidal ideation will eventually walk through their door. Many people get caught up in worry and focus on mandated reporting instead of taking a humanistic approach. This workshop will explore the prevalence, risk, protective factors, assessments, and safety strategies for individuals experiencing varying degrees of suicidal ideation.

  2. Assess for suicidality
  3. Identify the need for assessment beyond the appointment

Scot Wilson

Scot Wilson is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Certified Forensic Mental Health Evaluator. He has worked in human services for 16 years with people experiencing intellectual disabilities and dual diagnoses. Currently in private practice, Scot brings his history as an emergency room mental health clinician to private practice, assisting clients experiencing varying degrees of ideation.

In his free time, Scot enjoys going to concerts, traveling, family, and photography. He has three children and four fur children, making for an energetic household.
