This workshop provides a review of ongoing, collaborative crisis & safety plans. Participants will learn how to determine when to hospitalize or implement safety plans and how to address and assess for lethal means. We will also identify creative alternatives to hospitalization.

The educational goal of this course it to increase knowledge about chronic suicidality.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Identify 3 alternatives to hospitalization when hospitalization is not recommended.

Identify 5 key elements of safety planning.

Identify 2 ways to minimize disruption to the therapeutic alliance when patients are hospitalized against their will.
