Learning the purpose behind the constant suicidal wish and being able to empathize while instilling hope can save lives. This workshop will review suicidology theories and provide detailed information about the seven main theories of suicidal behavior: Interpersonal theory of suicide, Stress-Diathesis model of suicide, Intersectionality theory, Biosocial theory (Linehan), Fluid Vulnerability theory, Integrated Motivational-Volitional model, and Suicidal Mode.

The educational goal of this course it to increase knowledge about chronic suicidality.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Identify 3 commonalities of all suicidology theories.

Identify 3 components of one theory of suicidal behavior that you plan to use with clients.

Discuss 2 differences between acute and chronic suicidality.
