This module will detail the neurobiological, psychological, emotional, and survival related aspects of what family members experience in attempting to connect and help a loved one. The long-held industry approach that this is “codependency” can be obscure and not elucidate a clear trajectory for healing. Sometimes the notion of codependency can be interpreted as a way of being that can be changed by mere choice or behavioral change. In detailing the innate neuro-biologically mediated experiences of humans, this module will deliver a foundation for understanding that is beyond a cognitive behavioral approach.
