Description

Research and conversations about gender identity and expression have become significant topics of discussion in the last several years, especially with the influx of legislation attempting to minimize the rights of gender-expansive individuals. To promote advocacy and awareness for this community, the presenters will provide information on the significance of utilizing affirming pronouns when working with gender-expansive
clients. The presenters will provide education on pronouns clinicians should be aware of in English and Spanish, how to normalize pronoun use in treatment, and how to repair the therapeutic alliance when a clinician misgenders a client.
