Trauma informed treatment and the impact on family systems, takes a deeper look at what trauma actually is in all its contexts. Describes in detail the effects trauma has on many aspects of our lives, and how most maladaptive coping mechanisms are simply survival strategies that at one time in our lives were very adaptive. Finally we explore how family can be a source of risk and protection when dealing with the aftermath of trauma, and focus on ways we all can support a more systemic approach to treating trauma.
