Description

This two-day experiential training will provide instruction and guidance on Tian Dayton’s core sociometric processes. This is a live, in-person training that includes didactic instruction but is primarily interactive, experiential, and applied learning. The in-person format is a live, interactive experience wherein symptoms become relevant to the group and more easily understood. It will connect group members with each other to develop sharing and listening skills.

This training will cover the following experiential processes that can be used in group or one-to-one therapy

  • • Step-in Circles
  • • Locograms
  • • Spectograms
  • • Floor Checks
  • • Attachment Trauma Timeline
  • • Resilience Timeline
  • • Social Atom (Present Day Social Atom, Family of Origin Social Atom, Frozen Moment Social Atom, Future Projection Social Atom, Resilience/ Growth Moments)
  • • Role Play Basics
  • • Experiential Letter Writing
Target Audience
  • Counselors
  • Substance Use Disorder Professionals
  • Social Workers
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists
This training will enable participants to:
  • • Incorporate therapeutic experiential, group processes into treatment programs.
  • • Engage and bond groups, getting them out of their chairs, on their feet, and interacting with each other.
  • • Provide a user-friendly way of incorporating embodiment through experiential letter-writing.
  • • Warm groups up so their painful issues will emerge organically rather than feeling on the spot or forced.
  • • Provide an experiential format to educate groups on the symptoms of PTSD that are made relevant to each group member’s life.
  • • Follow up the exploration of cPTSD symptoms with floor checks expanding on, exploring, and unpacking individual symptoms or inner states.
  • • Build emotional literacy and intelligence.
  • • Heal through co-regulation and strengthen self-regulation.
  • • Help bypass the kind of emotional resistance that can accompany trauma due to the natural defenses surrounding painful material that arise when working with it.
  • • Break down embodied, experiential work into small, focused processes that can be easily incorporated into existing programming.
