This presentation will review the history and current state of human trafficking globally and within New Hampshire. It will include up-to-date statistics to educate healthcare professionals on identifying human trafficking with clients/patients. Participants will develop an understanding of the types of human trafficking occurring in the U.S., learn the physical and psychological signs of trafficking, and gain an understanding of how to approach the topic with a client. The training will also educate participants on how to report and/or refer a person suspected to be a victim of human trafficking.

The educational goal of this presentation is to increase participants’ knowledge of human trafficking and how to address it with clients.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Identify three types of human trafficking that occur in the U.S.

Describe two physical and two psychological signs of human trafficking

Explain the steps that should be taken when approaching human trafficking with a client

Identify two local human trafficking resources

List the steps required to report and/or refer a person suspected to be a victim of human trafficking
