This presentation will first provide a broad overview of Personality Disorders, including their diagnostic criteria and etiology theories. We will then focus specifically on Antisocial & Borderline Personality Disorders and why they may be prevalent in the substance use and mental health disorder fields. We’ll specifically cover the neurobiology that supports the behaviors and the science behind them. The learner will come away with a practical understanding of these disorders and some basic tools to utilize in the clinical setting.

Participants will gain competency in the diagnosis and treatment of Antisocial and Borderline Personality Disorders.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- List 3 diagnostic criteria for both Antisocial Personality Disorder & Borderline Personality Disorder
- Explain 2 reasons why these disorders are prevalent in the SUD & MH populations.
- Identify 3 practical tools and skills to work with this population.
