Misuse of opioids kills tens of thousands of people every year, and non-fatal overdoses and the effects of addiction on families impact hundreds of thousands more. Opioid addiction is becoming increasingly relevant in practice for behavioral health professionals, and knowing how to care for patients struggling with this issue is essential. Join Dr. Aaron Weiner for a discussion about the current status of the opioid epidemic in America, how to properly assess for opioid use, how to effectively treat opioid addiction when you are able to do so, and what to look for in a referral when you need additional resources.
