This dynamic session equips participants with powerful tools to tackle social problems. Participants will explore their influence and navigate the political landscape surrounding their chosen issue. Through the “Triple A Analysis” tool, participants will identify their authority, assess stakeholder acceptance, and develop strategies to maximize impact. We’ll delve into power mapping to identify key players and craft messages that resonate. We’ll also examine past attempts to address the problem and identify gaps. Finally, we’ll discuss the iterative nature of social change and explore strategies for mobilizing your team and fostering continuous learning.

The educational goal of this workshop is to empower social workers to leverage their unique power and navigate power dynamics to create effective, sustainable solutions to social problems.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Analyze their own influence using the "Triple A Analysis" tool.

Map power dynamics surrounding their chosen social issue.

Identify past efforts to address their chosen social issue and potential gaps.

Develop and implement 2 or more strategies to mobilize their teams for action effectively.
