In addition, we will review ethical guidelines and embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion considerations, ensuring a holistic approach to transformative KAP care.

The educational goal of this module is to master the foundations of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, integrating trauma-informed care, understanding therapeutic mechanisms of action, navigating ethical practices, and embracing diversity and inclusion for a holistic and transformative approach to KAP.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Explain 2 ways to integrate trauma-informed care treatment plans into your KAP practice.

Describe the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of ketamine, including its mechanisms of action and neurobiology.

Identify at least 2 indications and 2 contraindications for ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.

Explain how to assess a clients' suitability for ketamine treatment.

Describe at least 2 current, cultural perspectives on psychedelics as they relate to ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.

Describe at least 2 ways to address DEI in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, including understanding cultural perspectives on psychedelics and addressing diversity and equity issues.

Explain how to use broaching to incorporate diversity and equity in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy sessions.

Explain how to comply with ethical guidelines, current standards, and legal requirements for ketamine assisted psychotherapy, including risk management strategies, informed consent, and documentation.
