Prevalence rates for stressor-related disorders are increasing among the general population. Many of these disorders have a significant relationship with trauma and impact the mind and physical body. Mental health professionals often struggle to conceptualize what an individual experiences after a stressful and/or traumatic event, which impacts their ability to diagnose in this area and provide culturally responsive treatment. The DSM-5TR, the most current edition of The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, collaboratively reframes the categories of trauma and stress as PTSD and Stressor-Related Disorders. This training covers best clinical practices for working with patients whose symptoms meet the criteria for disorders in this category, as well as billable codes, treatment planning, case conceptualization, and culturally responsive methods of practice via an integrative approach.
