Description

This presentation will discuss findings from research on factors that impact stress in black men, factors that influence their mental health, and factors that influence them engaging within the healthcare system. Mental health is very stigmatized among black men and the conversation is important. This presentation will teach concrete skills to engage black men to improve their mental health.

Dr. Krista Mincey

Dr. Krista D. Mincey is an Associate Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine. She is a native of Dublin, GA, and earned her DrPH in Community Health Behavior & Education from Georgia Southern University, her MPH from then Armstrong Atlantic State University, and her B.S. in Chemistry from Georgia College & State University. Her research interests include Black men’s health, college health, and mental health.
