The idea of shadow work originated with Carl Jung. Over the years there have been adaptations of the concept as clinical theories ebb and flow. Recently, social media has made shadow work popular as people explore ways to heal in an ever changing and difficult world.
This workshop will discuss the origins of shadow work and how it relates to understanding how we deal with hardship and trauma. We will use tools and modalities that lend to understanding shadow work and discovering “shadows” that often hinder our growth and self-understanding. We will discuss and explore ways to identify themes of the shadow-self and learn tools to change behaviours for healing.
This workshop will explore themes of the subconscious mind and perhaps buried pain. We will spend time identifying resources for safety. Please be aware that this workshop will require participation and self-disclosure that may feel uncomfortable. Please make every effort to come prepared for self-discovery and exploration of your deeper self.
