Research shows that self-compassion is one of the most powerful sources of coping and resilience. It’s key to mental, emotional and physical well-being, and has been shown to increase motivation and productivity. It’s a superpower, says Dr. Kristin Neff, hidden in our own back pocket that we don’t even realize is there.
In this talk Dr. Neff explains the theory behind cultivating self-compassion and presents research establishing it’s benefits. She will focus on the crucial role that self-compassion plays for caregiving professionals to prevent burnout. An empirically-supported practice will be taught that can help individuals maintain balance in difficult situations involving caring for others.
