In this unique presentation, we will discuss crucial “breakthroughs” in the treatment of eating disorders, seen through the lens of a seasoned clinician’s 20 years of experience developing treatment for eating disorders in higher levels of care. We will learn about a selection of “game changers” whose work has been integral in improving the quality of treatment, highlighting the importance of integrating these breakthroughs into treatment. Delving into how these game changers and breakthroughs impacted those who we once called “treatment resistant”, we will reflect on our own past limitations in the field, with enthusiasm for the future.
