This course will provide an overview of how trauma affects the brain. Clinicians will develop an understanding of the benefits of EMDR Therapy in healing from life adversity.

To provide an overview of how trauma affects the brain and the theoretical foundation of EMDR therapy as a treatment modality.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the theoretical foundation of EMDR- The Adaptive Information Processing Model
- List 3 ways that trauma affects the brain
- Explain why EMDR is not just a Trauma Therapy
- Differentiate between Implicit and Explicit Memory
- Explain how memory networks contribute to current symptoms
