Are you considering including Employee Assistance Program (EAP) referrals in your practice, or have you already added them and are wondering, “Now what?”

This course, “EAP 101 for Behavioral Health Providers,” presented by the EAPA Louisiana Chapter, can help!  Whether you’re unfamiliar with EAPs or want a refresher, this course provides a comprehensive overview. By participating in this training, mental health professionals will gain valuable insights into the EAP field, allowing them to understand better how it can support employee well-being and organizational success.

Educational Goal

The educational goal of this workshop is to increase knowledge about Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), how EAPs differ from regular mental health benefits, how to get referrals, and professional standards for EAP providers.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and describe the components of EAP referrals and services.

  • Explain EAP core technology.

  • Summarize CEAP certification.

  • Differentiate between EAPs and behavioral health services.

  • Identify at least two ethical considerations of dual relationships in EAP.

Social Workers

TPN.health, #1766, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. Amanda Hembree, M.S., NCC, LPCC, CEAP,  brings over 20 years of mental health experience from national and international settings, including: community non-profits, private schools, higher education, and corporate employee assistance programs. Amanda is known for her lively and energetic presentations and is a sought-after presenter on a multitude of topics. Her audiences have ranged from middle school students to “C-Suite” professionals. She is equally comfortable speaking to members of the Junior League or in FR coveralls at an industrial plant. Amanda earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans. She has a thriving private practice and is a licensed mental health professional in Louisiana, Texas, Colorado, and California.
