This 6-hour presentation focuses on using stabilization tools for individuals with complex PTSD and dissociative disorders. The presentation will take a more in-depth look at complex PTSD and dissociative disorders using an integrative approach to trauma treatment.
The presentation will introduce a three-phased treatment model that includes stabilization, processing, and integration, with a more in-depth focus on the stabilization phase. The first phase, stabilization, will be discussed, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe and stable environment for clients. The presentation will cover a variety of modalities used in the stabilization phase, including EMDR, Brainspotting, Flash Technique, Gestalt, and somatic modalities. The stabilization tools will prepare clients for the processing and integration phase, allowing them to stay within their window of tolerance while processing trauma memories. Strategies for grounding and containment will be explored, and techniques for addressing traumatic memories and emotions will be introduced. Throughout the presentation, case examples will be used to illustrate the integrative approach to trauma treatment.
