Soul Recovery (SR) is a program that offers individuals a clear and comprehensive roadmap to their true and authentic selves – by bridging the gap between the 12 Steps of Recovery and other transformational practices, including some of the latest developments in brain science, such as the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
The Compassionate Accountability training is an extension of SR that tactfully addresses the underlying root causes of unconscious racial bias and emotionally paves the way for cultural competence in recovery spaces. Compassionate Accountability works with NAATP’s Stages of Change Model for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) – Best Practices in Addiction Treatment.
Staff will fall into two separate groups that will be attending the training times listed below (Groups 1 & 2)
- • Social Worker
- • Marriage & Family Therapist
- • Counselor
- • Substance Use Disorder Professionals
The educational goal of this presentation is to improve participants’ cultural competence in recovery spaces.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
-
Define unconscious racial bias and discuss its impact on individuals and the behavioral healthcare industry.
-
Reduce staff stress, confusion, and resistance regarding DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) training from baseline.
-
Practice three Compassionate Accountability strategies to eradicate systemic racial bias in the behavioral healthcare industry.
-
Explore and implement two approaches.
