This workshop provides an overview of clinical hypnosis, its utility to the work of mental health professionals, and information about when a practitioner may want to refer a client to another professional for hypnosis. This workshop will also include resources for further training in the use of clinical hypnosis.

The educational goal of this workshop is to introduce the basics of clinical hypnosis to clinicians.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Summarize what hypnosis is and explain how it works.

Identify and challenge three common myths and misperceptions associated with hypnosis.

Identify four or more situations in which a referral for hypnosis might help a client.
