There are several perspectives to explore when it comes to confidentiality and privacy. Some are clear, such as HIPAA, a federal law meant to protect private health information, that everyone must follow. But what about within organizations? Or within treatment or recovery teams? It can be challenging for Peer Professionals to be “in but not of” a system, protecting the confidentiality and privacy of their peers, while also building rapport with colleagues and interdisciplinary teams. Join us as we explore a variety of considerations for navigating confidentiality and privacy as Peer Professionals.
