Welcome to the Intervention 101 Training, a comprehensive program exploring intervention theory and practice. This professional training allows participants to earn 21 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) approved by the PCB  (Pennsylvania Certification Board). 

 

We are proud to have the support of seven sponsors who will contribute to the training by delivering presentations on various clinical topics. We will also have the opportunity to learn more about their programs and services offered to become better acquainted with who they are as a resource for those in need. 

 

Throughout the training, esteemed experts Patricia Pike and Ed Storti will provide focused insights and guidance on different intervention approaches. Both have paved the way for effective intervention techniques that have informed countless professionals as they assist families and loved ones of those struggling with behavioral health concerns. The expertise shared in this training spans clinical issues, addiction, mental health, theories, and family systems, ensuring a comprehensive exploration of the subject matter.

 

As part of the training, we are excited to introduce participants to the TPN.health platform. This user-friendly platform allows attendees to access post-tests for each presentation, complete evaluations, and receive certified credits conveniently. The platform ensures a seamless and efficient process for attendees to fulfill their continuing education requirements.

Educational Goal

The educational goal of this presentation is to prepare participants for the Canam intervention training 101 conference and provide relevant information about what to expect.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Gain an opportunity to briefly introduce themselves, sharing their name and their geographical location

  • Gain a sense of community among attendees, allowing everyone to become familiar with their peers and establish a welcoming atmosphere for the remainder of the tratrainings

  • Begin to build connections and appreciate the diverse backgrounds represented in the virtual space

Patricia Pike

Patricia M. Pike, CEO of CanAm Interventions, is a Certified Intervention and Addiction Specialist trained expert with over 25 years of professional experience in the field of behavioral health treatment, specializing in substance abuse disorders and mental health conditions. Ms. Pike holds a master’s accredited certification in addiction studies and certified intervention professional certification.

Ms. Pike has conducted crisis and case management interventions and treatment aftercare monitoring and led education training for professionals nationally and internationally. Patricia is a Licensed Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LAADC), Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-II), a long-standing member of the Canadian Addiction Counselor Association Federation, Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor through the IC&RC (I.C.A.A.D.C), Certified Intervention Professional (CIP), through the Pennsylvania Certification Board and an Education Diploma (AID) and is on the board of the nationally recognized Association of Intervention Specialists (AIS).

With her own personal recovery journey for decades, professional experience, and educational background, Patricia is passionate about advocating for untreated individuals struggling with substance use disorders and mental health conditions and providing supportive services for families affected by addiction and/or mental health challenges. Patricia does not end up in the lives of her clients by mistake but through her vast experience, genuine nature, and passion for helping others. She is dedicated to creating a connection with her clients by utilizing a person-centered approach to meet her client’s needs by using customized intervention plans and crisis or case management professional services.

Ms. Pike is a highly effective trauma-informed and family systemic interventionist of guiding individuals needing help to accept professional help. She holds citizenship in the United States and Canada, giving her a diverse professional perspective of working and using evidence-based practices in both countries.

Ms. Pike is passionate about supporting other substance use disorder and mental health professionals. She has facilitated clinical intervention training in Canada and the United States that has helped many professionals become certified intervention professionals.
