During this session, participants will learn the signs of alcohol withdrawal and how to support clients in both inpatient and outpatient withdrawal. Participants will learn the ways in which alcohol use and misuse affect the body and learn strategies for communicating that information to patients in a way that can assist with motivating that client to seek treatment.

The educational goal of this presentation is for participants to gain knowledge about alcohol detox and
withdrawal management.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Identify and describe 2 signs of alcohol withdrawal.

Compare inpatient withdrawal management and outpatient withdrawal management.

Identify 2 criteria to supporting inpatient withdrawal management

List 3 organs affected by alcohol use and misuse and describe how to communicate that information with clients to motivate them to seek treatment.
