People with serious mental illnesses, like schizophrenia spectrum and persistent affective disorders, typically experience a decline in cognitive skills that negatively impact daily functioning. Cognitive remediation (CR) is currently considered the most effective way to address these deficits. This presentation will provide a roadmap for starting a cognitive remediation program in a mental health treatment setting. The discussion will focus on the systems and clinician-level supports required to implement a CR program.
