An introduction to the foundational concepts of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This presentation explores the current state of research on the efficacy of ACT, the 6 core concepts comprising ACT, and practical ways to implement ACT and its concepts into therapy.

Andrew Ahles

Andrew graduated with his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Oral Roberts University in 2012, and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He is currently the lead therapist in the Family Therapy program at Sante Center for Healing, an inpatient rehab facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Prior to coming to Santé, he worked in community mental health and addiction treatment in Oklahoma. In addition to helping his patients and their families, Andrew is passionate about developing resources for therapists to hone their skills. He has given multiple presentations on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, problem gambling, and other topics in both academic and professional settings.
