Developing a Transgender-Culturally Fluent Praxis: An Intersectional Approach to Serving Transgender and Non-Binary Patients is a comprehensive workshop designed for physical and mental health providers committed to enhancing their care practices for transgender and non-binary patients. Whether you are new to topics related to serving transgender and non-binary patients or more advanced, this workshop is structured to equip participants with the necessary tools and insights to build a culturally fluent, transgender-affirming practice. Drawing upon intersectional and anti-oppressive theoretical frameworks, the workshop will explore how transgender and non-binary patients’ clinical needs vary across identities, such as gender, race, disability, and socioeconomic status. This workshop not only emphasizes the importance of cultural fluency in healthcare but also offers a pathway for professionals to actively contribute to the well-being and equitable treatment of transgender and nonbinary individuals through gender-affirming praxis.
