Follow-up to presentation on October 19, 2021. This webinar will explore the considerations, evidence and approaches to supporting improved maternal mental health during the “first 1000 days”—the period from conception to age two. This period is key in infant development, maternal infant bonding and is a period of rapid change for both mother, father/family and infant.

Data regarding the presence of these challenges with mental health and substance misues during this period and interventions that support positive outcomes for mother, baby and family.

Joan Kenerson King

Joan Kenerson King, RN, MSN, has provided consulting, training and technical assistance to individuals, organizations, regions and states in developing recovery-oriented systems of care and integrated systems of care for more than 20 years. Prior to developing a consulting practice, she worked across a variety of health care settings.

King brings the perspectives of a family member and a clinician, combined with a belief in the power of relationships and communities create contexts for healing in her work.
