Joseph Green and Brendan Berry present: “For Our Fathers,” an innovative experiential learning program. As individuals navigating long-term recovery, they use the creative arts to enhance their journey, along with those they serve in their respective practices. Brendan, a Grammy Winning, board-certified, and licensed music therapist, focuses his practice on mental health, addiction, and recovery. Through storytelling and spoken word poetry, Joseph disrupts harmful narratives to foster greater connection in all the places we occupy. Participants can expect to receive a deeper understanding of the value that the creative arts can bring into all of our collective spaces of wellness. Joseph and Brendan have combined their passions for educating, inspiring, and healing through their musical and spoken word collaboration, “For Our Fathers.” There will be performances, stories, and a few insights that you can bring directly to your practices.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Identify and Describe the Role of Creative Arts in Mental Health Recovery.
-
Demonstrate the Use of Storytelling and Spoken Word to Disrupt Harmful Narratives.
-
Explain the Impact of Music Therapy on Addiction and Recovery.
