Educational Goal

The educational goal of the fourth module is to specify the clinical markers for emotion wellness and a deliberate practice approach towards healing into one’s authentic sense of self.

Description

By utilizing the Change Triangle as a key tool for supporting clients to make sense of and learn to tolerate core affect, this module will present a clear roadmap for the awareness and understanding of emotion wellness. Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy details the transformative healing power of affect. While clients are empowered to heal by understanding their schematic learning, they are equally empowered to heal in gaining understanding and competencies into their core emotions.

Alana C. Smith, LCSW, LCDC

Alana C. Smith, LCSW, LCDC is a graduate of the University of Houston, Graduate College of Social Work (2004). She is clinically trained in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and Coherence Therapy, and is currently a Postgraduate Fellow of the Center for Family Consultation. Alana has managed treatment center staff and developed treatment and family treatment programs across the country. Her passion is to bring a Deliberate Practice approach to the treatment of addiction and families impacted by addiction by utilizing the science of human relationships and emotions. Alana facilitates virtual seminars on addiction, family healing, and emotion wellness. She lives in San Diego, CA.
