Educational Goal
Increase knowledge of intimate partner violence, appropriate interventions, and unique challenges to the college student/ young adult population.
Description
Young adulthood is becoming an even more challenging time in today’s digital world; young people are grappling with issues of identity, isolation, and new challenges in relational intimacy. Concurrently, therapy is becoming more accepted and encouraged among people ages 18 – 24. The chances of encountering a young adult facing relational challenges and abusive relationship dynamics are increasing. Join us to discuss these challenges and how therapists can meet the needs of this special population.
While college students are discussed, interventions gained from this presentation can be used with any age group.
