As a QMHP, you are a significant part of care delivery to provide collaborative mental health care to adults and/or children. In an effort to provide systematic support, this QMHP training will cover the S.C.O.P.E. (Skill Set, Competency and Collaboration, Organizational Expectations, Professional Development, and Ethics) of Competency. The S.C.O.P.E. framework is a structured way to capture the essential tenets of training and development. Participants in this training will also learn flexibility Skills, multicultural competency skills, problem-solving skills and self-awareness skills. Types of services QMHPs provide, restrictions on scope of practice, and professional development requirements will also be covered.

The educational goal of this workshop is to provide a foundational training for QMHPs in Virginia.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Explain the board’s regulations for initial QMHP registration.

Explain the board’s regulations annual renewal requirements.

Describe the S.C.O.P.E. (skill set, competency and collaboration, organizational expectations, professional development, and ethics) training framework.
