Description

Mindfulness is an effective way to manage stress, improve well-being, and produce positive health outcomes. This presentation will review the core elements of mindfulness, present research on the effectiveness of mindfulness for a variety of physical and psychological problems, and will demonstrate three mindfulness techniques that attendees can easily use in their daily lives.

Christine Karper, Ph.D., LMHC, QCS(FL)

Christine Karper, Ph.D., LMHC, QCS(FL) obtained her master’s degree in mental health counseling and her doctoral degree in counselor education and supervision from the University of Central Florida. As a clinician, Dr. Karper enjoys assisting individuals utilizing integrated care models and includes mindfulness as part of her treatment strategy. In her work in academia, she has presented nationally and internationally and has published articles in several journals in counseling and psychology. Karper is currently a program chair for the University of Phoenix in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.
