Description

Join us for a compelling moderated discussion featuring Ryan Hampton, a prominent advocate, speaker, author, and media commentator, renowned for his tireless efforts in tackling the national addiction and drug overdose crisis. In recovery from a decade-long opioid addiction, Ryan has emerged as a leading voice in addiction recovery advocacy and drug policy reform. An alumnus of the Clinton White House, he has collaborated with numerous non-profits and led significant addiction recovery campaigns, breaking down cultural barriers and inspiring a new generation of advocates.

During this session, we will delve into Ryan’s transformative journey, from his recovery to becoming a forefront expert in the field. We’ll explore his influential role in releasing the first-ever U.S. Surgeon General’s report on alcohol, drugs, and health in 2016, and his recognition by Forbes as a top social entrepreneur in the recovery movement. Ryan’s extensive media presence and contributions to outlets like the Today Show, USA Today, and the New York Times will be highlighted, showcasing his impact on public perception and policy.

We will also discuss his books, including the bestselling “American Fix” and “Unsettled,” which provide deep insights into the opioid crisis and the Purdue Pharma bankruptcy. The session will cover his national advocacy initiative, Mobilize Recovery, which has trained over 8,000 advocates and distributed thousands of naloxone doses and fentanyl test strips. Through this discussion, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of Ryan’s beliefs, advocacy work, and his mission to end the overdose crisis in America.
