Description

To be effective supervisors, it is imperative that supervisors understand the contextual factors in which their supervisee was raised personally and professionally and how these various factors contribute to therapeutic approach. This training will explore a culturally sensitive way in which supervisors can increase understanding of their supervisee and support supervisee insight, growth, and development professionally and clinically. Participants will practice completing a cultural genogram and explore the clinical and professional applications of the intervention. Participants will learn how they can broach sensitive and personal topics in a way that feels safe, comfortable, and supportive in the supervisory relationship through the implementation of the cultural genogram.
