Educational Goal

The educational goal of this workshop is to provide a comprehensive understanding of ethical standards and responsibilities in clinical practice, emphasizing the importance of compliance, informed consent, and the protection of human subjects.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and explain at least five key ethical principles related to clinical practice, including confidentiality, informed consent, and professional boundaries.

  • Demonstrate appropriate resolution of an ethical dilemma involving client care and supervision by applying at least two ethical decision-making models.

  • Create a plan to develop a comprehensive informed consent form and effectively explain it to ensure all ethical and legal requirements are clearly communicated.

  • Identify potential ethical violations and predict at least two corrective action plans to ensure adherence to professional ethical standards in clinical settings.

Dr. LaToya “Chevelle” Waddell earned a B.S. in Human Development and Family Sciences with a concentration in Fashion Merchandise and Design, a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling and Counselor Education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
