Description
This webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of the most commonly used substances by students and offer practical guidance on navigating difficult conversations about substance use with students. Participants will learn effective ways to build presence and engage with students while fostering a supportive environment that encourages resilience and positive outcomes.

Presenters
Suzy is a lifelong learner who enjoys all things Brené Brown and the power of connection. She’s a clinician, wife, mom, Army brat, and Texan. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from Wake Forest University and is currently pursuing her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Liberty University. She is a dually licensed LCMHC and LCASA, as well as an EMDR Clinician.
She is passionate about her work at the Trauma Center at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, where she is the Lead Counselor for Pediatric Trauma at Brenner Children’s Hospital in North Carolina as well as the Trauma Survivors Network Coordinator for pediatric and adult trauma survivors.
When she is not working, she is organizing or re-decorating at home or at work; she believes that your space reflects your personality, and she strives to always create an inviting and relaxing environment for those around her.
