The rapid expansion of telehealth services has transformed the field of mental health counseling, offering both opportunities and challenges for clinicians. This course provides an up-to-date review of the evolving legal and clinical frameworks guiding telehealth practice. Participants will gain insights into the latest federal and state regulations, ethical standards, and best practices in telehealth counseling.

 

The session will focus on how mental health counselors can maintain compliance while delivering high-quality care in a virtual environment. Topics covered will include licensure portability, various technologies used in clinical practice, HIPAA-compliant technology, interstate practice, informed consent, and client confidentiality in telehealth.

 

By the end of the course, attendees will have a clear understanding of how to navigate the regulatory landscape of telehealth while upholding clinical standards.

Educational Goal

The educational goal of this course is to provide mental health counselors with a brief yet impactful update on the most recent legal changes and clinical best practices in telehealth.
