The societal changes within the past year and a half have shown the importance of ensuring the communities we serve are working with organizations that are committed to anti-oppressive work that fully values the identities and contributions of all members of society. This session will assist learners in transforming each of their organizations into one that promotes racial tolerance and is a positive force for change. Attendees will leave understanding the concept of intersectionality, the potential influences of historical racism on agency policies, the usefulness of caucusing and the value of developing staff with a heightened awareness of equity. They will also leave with examples of concrete tools to begin implementing change. While this session is open to all, it is specifically targeted towards leadership and others who can influence change within their organizations.
