Attendees will be able to identify facts from misunderstandings regarding the very common, but often not discussed, the topic of NSSI. From being able to use correct language to identifying the almost 30 forms of the behavior, the top 10 reasons why someone chooses to harm, tips on how to respond, and assessment guidelines, the attendee will feel better prepared to assist clients & caregivers with this behavior.

Presenters

Lori Vann, MA, LPC-Supervisor

International speaker, media guest, and ve-time author, Lori Vann is a regarded mental health expert and founder of Vann & Associates: Coaching, Counseling, & Consulting. For over twenty years, she has been on a mission to spread education on the topic of Non-Suicidal Self-Injury through the writing of her four books, the development of the Self-Injury Prevention & Intervention Program for treatment centers & schools, and the founding of the Institute for Non-Suicidal Self-injury. Her experiences working at psychiatric hospitals, the non-profit sector, an outpatient clinic, and her own privative practice located in North Texas, have led to her motto of Here To Serve whether on a big stage, one-on-one with a client, or leading an online NSSI Support group.

She is a graduate of Pepperdine University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a graduate of Chapman University where she graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Psychology.
