So many clients leave their DBT skills training groups complaining that DBT is too dry and academic. The skills taught in Dialectical Behavior Therapy are life changing, when clients are inspired to use them. For this experiential learning workshop, participants will engage with DBT skills and have fun! For clinicians who already incorporate DBT skills into their treatment plans, or clinicians who have been intimated by DBT, this is a great opportunity to add a valuable toolkit to their clinical practice.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
-
Learn 5 of the most important skills taught in Dialectical Behavior Therapy: Wise Mind, Radical Acceptance, Balancing interpersonal priorities and Opposite Action.
-
Be able to teach those skills to clients in ways that are engaging and fun, both online and in person.
-
Discover how approachable and easy it can be to learn and teach DBT skills.
-
Develop the validation skill of Radical Genuineness as a vehicle for higher client engagement and retention.
