Educational Goal

The educational goal of this workshop is to increase participants’ understanding of strategies for treating addiction using trauma-centered principles.

Description

This workshop expands beyond traditional models for treating addiction by shifting from a modality-centered perspective to a principle-centered perspective. We’ll explore progressive modalities that align with these principles, incorporating contemporary neurological research, contributions from neurocardiology (HeartMath), Felt-Sense and Polyvagal applications to addiction treatment, and mindfulness-based somatic parts-work. In this introductory session, Greg shares innovative strategies for treating addiction from the bottom-up, relying on trauma-centered principles that hold the client in a respectful, compassionate and deeply empowering space. Greg draws from 35+ years of clinical experience, culminating in a therapeutic approach that incorporates some of the most cutting edge technologies in modern addiction treatment.
