Morhaf Al Achkar, MD, PhD

Dr. Morhaf Al Achkar is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine with a strong emphasis on provider communication, patient experience, and interdisciplinary education. He holds a medical doctorate and a Ph.D. in research methodology in education. With over 10 years of experience teaching residents, leading workshop planning, and delivering education for providers in interdisciplinary settings, Dr. Al Achkar is dedicated to enhancing provider communication and patient care.

In his role at the Department of Family Medicine, Dr. Al Achkar focuses on classroom didactic learning, emphasizing dialogical frameworks and experiential learning strategies. He is passionate about fostering effective communication between providers and patients and is actively involved in developing learning modules to improve providers’ readiness and competency in collaborative care settings. Dr. Al Achkar is committed to promoting health equity and social justice, centering authentic conversation, reflection, and dialogue in his teaching and patient care approach.
