Description

Clinical work with school-aged clients requires an intentional lens and deliberate planning. School-aged clients are impacted by a unique set of factors that influence their behavior and decision-making abilities. Students spend more waking time at school than in any other setting, so it is not surprising that encounters within the school setting can impact internal processes and external functioning. This presentation will provide an overview of developmental considerations, potential risk and protective factors to explore, and school-based consultation strategies.

Target Audience
  • Counselors
  • Social Workers
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists
